The Advantages of Using e-Commerce

One of the most important things that you need to understand and know about e-Commerce is its advantages. There are many reasons behind this rationale. One reason is that by knowing its advantages, you will be able to decide if you really need this kind of business solution. For instance, one way you can do this is by weighing both its pros and cons. With that, if the cons are greater than the positive side and benefits of using the e-Commerce, then there is no reason at all for you to spend a penny for it.

So, what are the advantages of using e-Commerce as one of your business solutions? For me, there are at least three (3) most important advantages of this e-Commerce that we can talk about here. These are about the costs, speed and efficiency of your business goals.

On the one hand, using the e-Commerce to your business will incur you less costs. I have said this because there are many activities in your business that are being simplified by using such tool. For example, order taking can be more convenient and less costly for you. If you are running a small online trading company, then an internet-based e-Commerce can be very convenient for you. Aside from that, it will incur less cost from you, not only in order taking, but in customer service process as well.

On the other hand, using the e-Commerce makes all of your transactions, activities and processes faster as well. This is because almost all your business interfaces are already automated. On top of it all, with the faster transactions, you will be able to entertain more customers as well. The philosophy behind this is quite simple. This is because all your processes are being with the help of your computer and very minimal manual process. With that, you can even focus on other things in order to make your business grow and prosper.

Last, but not the least, another major advantage of using e-Commerce is regarding its efficiency. Well, there have been lots of reviews and positive testimonials about this already. Some even recommend the use of this tool to any kind of businesses from small up to industrial scale operations. The reason of its efficiency is that you, as the business owner and operator or manager, will exert less effort in conducting some of your vital processes while entertaining more customers. With that, it means more possible revenue for your business as you incur less cost. As a result, you will have more profit in the end.

Different Types of e-Commerce

Upon searching the internet, you will immediately find out that there are several different types of tools for your e-Commerce. As a matter of fact, there are actually different types of e-Commerce that you can apply to your business and office. There are at least four (4) types that I can remember according to what I have researched from the World Wide Web. These are the B2B, B2C, P2P and the C2C. We will explain these briefly in the section below.

Business to Business e-Commerce or B2B

On the one hand, the business to business type of e-Commerce is the most common form being used by many businesses. This is also considered as the biggest type among the other three. As its name suggests, the B2B refers to the transaction between two business entities. Like in any kind of e-Commerce that we will state here, one is the buyer while the other one is the seller. The only difference here is that both entities in the trade are business establishments rather than individuals.

Business to Consumer e-Commerce or B2C

On the other hand, the business to consumer or B2C type of e-Commerce is the type that one party is a consumer. What this means is that one scenario can be that the buyer is the business entity while the other one is an individual seller. However, this can also be the other way around, which means that it can also be that the business entity is the one selling the products. The latter is actually the more common way to use this kind of e-Commerce.

Peer to Peer e-Commerce or P2P

The third other type of e-Commerce is the Peer to Peer or P2P. This actually tells us more than just the segment of the e-Commerce because it can also refer to a specific technology. This is because in this type of e-Commerce, people can share their information, transactions as well as computer resources and file to any kind of central database or web server. However, it will require the parties to install specific software to run the sharing of information between them.

Consumer to Consumer e-Commerce or C2C

Last, but not the least, is the consumer to consumer or CSC type of e-Commerce. The specific characteristic of this kind is that the trading of goods and services are between two individuals. There are some interfaces with intermediary e-Commerce tools but the primary transactions happen or take place between the two people.

Basic Aspects about e-Commerce

Like in any kind of tool that we use, there are basic aspects that we need to understand first. This will also help us to understand the things that we can expect from the said tool. This is also true when you are planning to engage in e-Commerce activities for your business.

As for me, there are at least three (3) basic aspects that we can talk about e-Commerce. These aspects are related to its elements, advantages and applications.

On the one hand, when it comes to the aspect of elements, one that we can talk about is that it is commonly based from a network. What this means is that the e-Commerce is either based from a LAN or internet or through the World Wide Web. The LAN entails wiring and remote connection between computers. Usually, this is being used within a business establishment or computers within the offices. However, the internet-based application is commonly being used through the World Wide Web, which means it is very common when a business is sharing information with their other branches and third party. You need to know which one you will choose (if not both) in order to determine a better way to operate your business.

On the other hand, you need to understand as well the advantages and benefits of the e-Commerce to your business before you even attempt to apply or engage into it. For example, one of the most common advantages of the e-Commerce is that it deviates from geographical limitation. What this means is that a fast sharing of information is now possible with the help of this, unlike in the old time. This is very ideal for a business with interfaces in several third parties or those with different branches.

Last, but not the least important aspect that you need to understand about e-Commerce, is regarding the applications of this kind of business tool. Of course, you need to know these applications because these will be the primary use of the tool to your business and to your life as well. If you will not exert an effort in knowing the different forms of applications, there is no way that you can also enjoy its usefulness. It is also important to know these applications prior to spending a penny for it in order to know as well if it is really worth it.

For some companies using e-Commerce, it may primarily mean a way to do money-related transactions like wire transfers, payment and billing. Alternatively, for some people, this means something that is like a tool for more convenient trading.

On the other hand, for the second essential aspect that you need to know about e-Commerce, there are actually different functions of this kind of network tool. In a general senses, it actually functions in two forms. These are as information transfer as well as tool for mercantilism and trading. Of course, transfer of information is one of the essential components of this age, wherein almost all transactions can already be made through the World Wide Web. Its functions as a tool of mercantilism is because the internet is now commonly being used as very important aspect when it comes to effective trading.

Lastly, you also need to know about the uses and functions of the e-Commerce. Well, as I have said above, it can depend on the person or entity using it.
